Ellie and Nate

How they met:

After finding each other on Match.com, emailing, texting, and talking on the phone, Ellie finally felt comfortable meeting Nate in person.

Ellie mean while had a very sick hard drive in her laptop, Apple of course. Nate convinced Ellie not to leave her computer at the Apple store as he would fix it for her.

They met September 6th 2006 at BJ’s Pizzeria and Brewery in Westwood. Ellie, being somewhat skeptical, left her laptop in her car. At lunch Nate proved to be a gentleman, and Ellie was a cheerful sunflower. After finishing their meal the new couple went walking in Westwood and back to Ellie’s car, where Nate even after seeing how messy her car was still asked her out on a second date. Nate got Ellie’s laptop, fixed it and retrieved all the data, becoming her knight in shinning armor, or in his case a knight in a blue CompuTech polo shirt


Dating:

They dated for 1 year. Met each others Families, yes and even then continued to date. Eventually both, Ellie and Nate, were able to cope with the other’s idiosyncrasies, i.e. Nate’s “obsessive compulsiveness” and Ellie’s less then tidy life style. 

After many trips to Disneyland and Ellie graduating from School, Nate and Ellie decided to move in together on July 26th, 2007. Forcing Ellie to make the difficult transition from “valley girl” to living on “like” the west side, this of course, in her case, came with a GPS navigation system and her first ever Christmas tree/ Chanukah bush; which for them became an ode to Disney and Mickey Mouse.

After dating for 1 1/2 years, Nate realized he wanted to keep the goober, Ellie, forever, officially. He started his top secret plotting and scheming for the most Ellie-like proposal ever.  With Ellie’s Parents blessing (and knowledge of where Nate was going to take their daughter) the planning was officially complete.

After 3 months of secrecy, all that was left, was to keep everyone else from knowing/telling, a very hard task with Ellie and family.

Proposal:

Starting 3 months before the actual trip Nate told Ellie they were going away, not telling her where.

With her pestering and everyone else in her family helping her,  Nate told her the weather of the location, 70-90 degrees.

The morning of September 16th, Nate and Ellie awoke at 5am. Nate handed Ellie a manilla envelope labeled top secret which contained the planning and itinerary for the entire trip, or so she thought.

Suitcases packed, Nate and Ellie were driven to the airport by David, Nate’s little brother. Off they went, to the place where dreams come true. Disney World!!!! After arriving at the airport, being escorted to the resort by the magical express and checking in Ellie and Nate relaxed a bit and enjoyed an amazing dinner.

Waking up the next morning, the day of their 2 year anniversary, they were off to the Magic Kingdom. With an amazingly fun day at the Magic Kingdom behind them they went back to the hotel to relax and change for dinner.

Dinner was in the Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella’s Castle. While waiting they had their picture taken with her majesty, Cinderella.

Once upstairs, seated next to the window with a view over looking the park, they began their dining experience. Dinner was served with a show of fireworks right out the window. As the meal came to an end Ellie looked in to Nate’s eyes and said “I don't know how this night could get any better”, little did she know of what was to come.

The server brought out a dome covered plate for dessert. Nate stood from his chair and the dome was removed. Under the dome was a plate covered in a beautiful bed of red rose petals upon which a glass slipper sat.  In the glass slipper was a elegant and “sparkling” ring placed around a rose petal. Nate lowered himself to one knee, asked for Ellie’s hand and proposed, reading off an index card as not to forget what he wanted to say. And of course, after the crying and not being able to speak subsided , SHE SAID YES!!!
